Police said a mugger who stole $200 from woman outside an Altoona bank left behind a pair of clues - his shoes.
"We have both his shoes," said Altoona Lt. Jeffrey Pratt, adding that the shoes are a pair of pink Adidas sneakers. "He ran out them prior to getting on his bike."
Altoona police said the robber forcibly took a white bank envelope containing about $200 from the woman, whose name has not been released, as she walked in an alley adjacent to Investment Savings Bank, 1201 Eighth Ave., at noon Thursday. The robber then peddled away, leaving the woman so upset that bank employees had trouble deciphering what was wrong after she ran back into the office, police said.
The suspect is described as a white male, between 15 and 18 years old, with a thin build, light-colored hair, wearing blue jeans and a dark hooded sweatshirt.
Police are investigating the incident as a strong-arm robbery, Pratt said.
The teenager's bicycle is described as a black and neon green-colored BMX-style bike. The suspect was last seen by witnesses heading east on the 1200 block of Fifth Avenue.
