LEADING OFF: The Curve were off on Monday after six days of games. Monday's off day was the first scheduled off day since the All-Star break earlier this month but both games last Sunday and Monday's games were postponed due to rain.
SAFE AT FIRST: The Curve will open up a six-game homestand tonight, starting at seven when they take on Binghamton. The B-Mets own a 6-2 record against the Curve this season.
STEALING SECOND: For the second time this month, Alex Dickerson was named the Eastern League Player of the Week. During the week, he homered twice, drove in 13 runs and hit .400. In the week, Dickerson tied the franchise record, driving in eight runs in a game as the Curve beat New Hampshire on Friday.
ROUNDING THIRD: Last week's performance was the highlight of a month where Dickerson has hit .417, driving in 26 runs. This all comes after he hit .185 and .264 in April and May respectively. In July, he's drove in 26 runs and hit six homers - both season highs. Dickerson leads the team in overall average (.298), RBIs (59) and runs (53).
HEADING HOME: RHP Nick Kingham (3-2, 2.89) will take the mound for the Curve tonight at 7 p.m. against B-Mets LHP Mark Cohoon (5-3, 4.64). It will also be the Double-A debut of SS Alen Hanson, the second best position player prospect in the Pirates system, according to Baseball America.
