Florence Lucille Boyer, 87, Roaring Spring, went home to be with the Lord Monday morning at Nason Hospital, Roaring Spring, after an extended illness.
She was born near Martinsburg, daughter of the late Roy Clinton and Catherine Gertrude (Wareham) Steward. She married Clyde E. Boyer on Sept. 22, 1951, in Winchester, Va., and he passed away Aug. 27, 1968.
Surviving are two siblings: Anna Zimmerman and Roy Steward and wife, Elsie, all of Martinsburg; two nieces: Anita G. Longenecker and Glenda A. McConnell; and a nephew, Al Steward.
She was preceded in death by two sisters: Gertrude Steward and Nancy Earnlenbaugh.
Lucille was a 1943 graduate of Morrisons Cove High School, Martinsburg. She retired from Veeder-Root Co. as a laborer after many years of service. She was a longtime member of Memorial Church of the Brethren, Martinsburg. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Roaring Spring Chapter 121, and the Roaring Spring Lions Club and attended many functions of the Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Roaring Spring Chapter, with her husband.
Lucille enjoyed bowling and spending time with her family at their cottage at Raystown Lake.
Friends will be received from 10 until the 11 a.m. memorial service Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, at Memorial Church of the Brethren, Martinsburg, Pastor Joel F. Nogle officiating. Private inurnment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.
The family prefers that memorial contributions be given to Memorial Church of the Brethren.
