Willis L. "Bill" Dibert, 86, of Duncansville passed away Friday at UPMC Altoona. He was born in Claysburg, son of the late Chester C. and Pearl V. (Yingling) Dibert. He married Betty R. Weyandt June 12, 1948, in Claysburg and she passed away Jan. 10, 2012.
Surviving are: a daughter, Cheryl E. Weidley of Duncansville; a son, Douglas J. of Altoona; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Aldine Lingenfelter of Duncansville and Helen Streetman of St. Cloud, Fla. He was preceded in death by a son, Wesley John; five brothers: Tom, Ray, Paul, Charles "Joseph" and Donald; and two sisters: Euda Belle and Pauline "Florence."
Bill was a member of Puzzletown Road Bible Church. He retired as a supervisor in the assembly department at SKF in 1985 after 33 years of service. He served in the Navy during WWII and the Marines during the Korean War.
He enjoyed aircrafts, hunting and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Calvary Baptist Church, 810 Ruskin Drive, Altoona. A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, July 29, 2013, at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastors Ron Anderson, Jon Gross and Lynn Johnston officiating. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to the Puzzletown Road Bible Church Missions Fund, 316 Puzzletown Road, Duncansville, PA 16635.
