Kin A. "Pete" Garman, 78, Antis Township, died Wednesday afternoon at Select Specialty Hospital, Johnstown.
He was born in Altoona, son of Lemuel and Sarah (Ogden) Garman. He married Verna B. (Weston) Ralston on Dec. 30, 1983, in Bellwood.
Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Gladys M. "GG" (Jim) Greene of Reightown; a granddaughter, Anna Greene; three stepchildren: Jody and Allen Ralston, both of Bellwood, and Sandy Singer of Hollidaysburg; children: Karen, Kim, David, Patrick and Ed; four siblings: Paul Garman Jr., Mary Quarello, Florence "Sparky" Markley and Margaret "Peggy" Arend, all of Altoona; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his twin sister, Kay I. Teuful; and a stepson, David Ralston.
Pete retired in 1996 as a custodian at Bellwood-Antis School District after more than 29 years of service. He enjoyed making sauerkraut, deer processing and meat cutting at the family home. He especially enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter, Anna, and his family.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 28, 2013, at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Bellwood, the Rev. Norman Huff officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to his wife, Verna.
