I was upset to read that Judge Timothy Sullivan gave ex-Altoona police officer Duane "D.J." Eichenlaub less than the state minimum sentence.
But if Eichenlaub thinks the jury was tainted, we should give him a new trial with the state maximum as a possible sentence.
Eichenlaub would feel much less comfortable in a state prison.
I am glad that Sullivan has finally told the police that they are not above the law. Perhaps it is time to reign in those that think they are above the law.
Citizens cannot live in a police state. It is time to make the police and district attorneys responsible for their actions.
