Roger C. Lorow, 75, Hollidaysburg, formerly of Lakemont, died Tuesday at UPMC Altoona.
He was born in Hornell, N.Y., son of Clayton and Mildred (Stark) Lorow. He married Mary L. Madore on June 23, 1962, in Hornell, and she died Aug. 21, 2011, after having shared 49 years of marriage.
Surviving are a daughter, Michele Schaefer and husband, Al, in New Jersey; a son, Jerry and wife, Leslie, of Pittsburgh; four grandchildren: Ryan and Nicole Lorow and Jackson and Alyson Schaefer; and two brothers: Gary and wife, Debby, of Eagleville, Tenn., and Thomas and wife, Kathy, of Waverly, Ga.
He was preceded in death by two sisters: Janice Welch and Lois Hughes.
Roger was a 1957 graduate of Hornell High School. He was employed first with the Erie Lackawanna Railroad in Hornell and then with Conrail/Norfolk Southern in Altoona. He retired in June 2000 with 38 years of service as a machinist. He served with the U.S. Army Reserve for more than 20 years.
Roger enjoyed his family, all sports and was an avid reader.
A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family with interment at Carson Valley Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Home Nursing Agency Hospice.
