Lawrence C. "Larry" Maiolo, 85, Altoona, died Friday at his residence.
He was born in Verona, son of the late Joseph and Marianna (Villella) Maiolo. He married Catherine "Kay" Suchevich on May 20, 1950, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Verona.
Surviving are his beloved and devoted wife; two loving daughters: Lynette Clapper of Duncansville and Laura Maiolo of Altoona; two special grandchildren whom he loved so much: Emily Clapper and fiance, Zachary Whitaker, of Bellefonte and Quinton Clapper of State College; a brother, Joseph in California; a sister-in-law, Hazel Maiolo in Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Lena Giardina; and three brothers: James, Albert and Alfred.
Larry was a 1946 graduate of Verona High School. He retired as a buyer with A&P Tea Co. after 38 years of service and was then employed by the Blair County Domestic Relations Office from 1983-93. He was of the Catholic faith and a past member of the Horseshoe Chorus.
He enjoyed woodworking, computers and especially spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
