Frank W. Zimmerer, 93, San Jose, Calif., passed peacefully into
rest Saturday with his Lord
and Savior Jesus Christ.
He was born in Altoona, son of John and Martha Zimmerer, the middle brother of five boys with one (eldest) sister.
He married Betty Mitchell on Aug. 24, 1946, who preceded him in passing Sept. 19, 2009.
Surviving are two daughters: Susan Camara and Linda Doolin and husband, David; and six grandchildren: Christine, Michael and Stephanie Camara and Dana, Kara (Caselas) and Eric Doolin.
Frank was a WWII veteran, serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a lead mechanic for the B-17 and B-24 and spending 33 months in Australia and New Guinea.
Many loved Frank, and all will miss his sense of humor, humbleness and giving spirit.
A burial service for family will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 19, 2013, at Madronia Cemetery in Saratoga, Calif., and will be followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. at Peninsula Bible Church, 10601 N. Blaney Ave., Cupertino, Calif.
