Helen I. Campbell, 98, a longtime resident of Bellwood, passed away Saturday evening at Garvey Manor Nursing Home, Hollidaysburg.
She was born in Allport, daughter of the late William and Annie (Smith) Randecker. She married Harold C. Campbell on Aug. 3, 1941, in York, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 9, 2010.
Surviving are a daughter, Sandra J. (Willard) Reed of Phillipsburg, N.J.; a son, H. Scott (Denise) of Malvern; five grandchildren: Deborah (Reed) Fortunato, David Reed, Rob Campbell, Erin (Campbell) Curtis and Colin Campbell; four great-grandchildren: Aiden Fortunato and Catie, Aileen and Maeve Curtis; and a sister, Nellie McCliment of Red Lion.
She was preceded in death by a half brother, William S. Randecker.
Helen was a 1936 graduate of Philipsburg State Hospital Nursing School. She was a registered nurse and homemaker and a longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Bellwood. She was an avid reader and a wonderful letter writer and conversationalist who enjoyed tending her roses and hosting family gatherings at her Black Moshannon Camp. Also, she enjoyed traveling and attending the activities of her grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Thursday, July 18, 2013, at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Bellwood, the Rev. Robert Kennedy officiating. Interment will be at Allport Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that those who wish make memorial contributions to Trinity United Methodist Church or Garvey Manor, Hollidaysburg.
