BEDFORD - The Cambria County American Legion Baseball playoffs will go one more night.

Led by Dylan Foor's complete game, the Bedford Hurricanes were able to escape elimination defeating Claysburg, 5-2, Monday night at Bedford High School.

"My hat goes off to him," Bedford coach Kelbi Berg said. "He got behind in some counts early, but he worked back and was able to settle in towards the end."

Both teams will square off in tonight's championship game at 5:30 in Bedford thanks to the efforts of Foor, who struck out seven batters and gave up two walks. He credits the offense for his success.

"They did a good job getting me the lead [in the third]," he said. "And I just settled in from there and threw strikes."

Claysburg managed to set the tempo early. Leadoff hitter Austin Cunningham belted a double and scored on a Kasy Hamm double to put the visitors up 1-0.

Bedford managed to turn the game around in the blink of an eye.

Right fielder Kody Blevins led off the inning with a single and eventually scored on a balk by Presley Swope. The Hurricanes scored all five runs in the inning to take a 5-1 lead after the third frame.

"When we play from behind and put our backs against the wall, this team responds," Berg said. "The defense steps up and the bench gets in it and the hitters take the approach that they need to."

Claysburg's fortune took a turn in the top of the fourth as it managed to load the bases with two outs, but Zach Cox grounded out to Bedford shortstop Isaac Stern to end the inning.

"We had runners in scoring position and couldn't get the timely hit today," Claysburg coach Dave Aungst said.

Cunningham scored the game's final run on a dead-ball error by Blevins for the game's final score.

Aungst said that he wouldn't go to into tonight's game with any other players.

"I wouldn't trade my guys for anything," he said. "Today just wasn't our day."
