NEW YORK - Curve center fielder Gregory Polanco started and went 0-for-1 with a walk for the World team in Sunday's MLB All-Star Futures Game at Citi Field, home of the New York Mets.
Polanco started in center field and batted seventh for the World team, which lost to the U.S. team, 4-2.
Polanco popped out to third base in foul territory in the second inning. He then had a tough time reading ball in center that led to a run for the U.S. as he first turned to his left and then to his right backtracking for a ball that one-hopped the wall.
Polanco came up for the final time in the fourth inning and drew a walk on five pitches with a runner at third base.
Polanco is having a banner season as the 21-year-old hit .312 with six homers, 30 RBIs and 25 steals at high-A Bradenton before getting promoted to Double-A. He has hit .287 with two homers, 18 RBIs and four steals in 22 games for the Curve.
