Susan J. Alderiso, 63, Altoona, died Monday morning at Golden LivingCenter-Hillview after an extended illness.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late George and Betty Jane (Lathero) Brantlinger. She married Darrel Alderiso on July 24, 1976, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Surviving are her husband; a daughter, Becky A. of Sewickley; a brother, James W. Brantlinger and wife, Linda, of Duncansville; a sister, Mary J. Bowers and husband, Donald, of Altoona; three sisters-in-law: Darlene Lynch and husband, Regis, Barbara Kriegbaum and Deborah Swan; and several nieces and nephews. Susan was a 1967 graduate of Altoona Area High School and retired as a secretary from the Bureau of Workers Compensation after 35 years of service. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she volunteered making prayer shawls. She enjoyed country music, line dancing, bowling, cooking, reading and spending time with her dogs. She was a volunteer at the voting polls and was a member of Country Friends line dancing group.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 11, 2013, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery.
