Donald L. "Donny" Butler, 42, Ambridge, formerly of East Freedom, died Thursday morning at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, after a battle with cancer.
He was born in Roaring Spring, son of John E. and Vernadine "Boots" (Strayer) Butler.
Surviving are his parents; a sister, Sandra Kay Devers and husband, Ron, of East Freedom; a nephew, Aaron John Devers; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Albert and Edith Strayer and Leo and Ella Mae Butler.
Donny was a 1989 graduate of Claysburg-Kimmel High School. He had been employed at RSVP Answering Service, Ambridge, for over 10 years.
He enjoyed his visits from his mother and sister, watching the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers, and playing games on his Kindle with his Facebook friends.
Friends will be received from 1 until the 2 p.m. memorial service Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at Smith Corner Independent Mennonite Church by Pastor David McClanahan.
Contributions in Donny's memory may be given to the Claysburg Area Public Library.
