LEADING OFF: It was announced on Wednesday that RHP Ethan Hollingsworth and 3B Adalberto Santos will be joining three other Curve players next week at the Eastern League All-Star Game in New Britain. RHP Jameson Taillon, RHP Casey Sadler and 2B Jarek Cunningham were the first three announced headed to the game.
SAFE AT FIRST: Santos has hit .274 this season, his second in Altoona. Santos, who played in the New York-Penn All-Star Game in 2010, hit .318 in June and finished the month with a season-high 28 hits. He also collected three homers and 14 RBIs in June. The .318 was second only to Justin Howard in the month of June.
STEALING SECOND: Hollingsworth, a reliever, has got the win in his last three appearances before Wednesday. He has a 5-3 record with a 3.13 ERA, going 4-0 in June. He allowed just two runs, both homers, in 25 1/3 innings pitched. He had the lowest ERA in June for any Curve pitcher of 0.71.
ROUNDING THIRD: The win in Binghamton capped off a rainy seven-game road trip where the Curve went 3-4. Of the seven games played, three were seven innings and one was one postponed. Due to the rain, the Curve had to sit through more than five and half combined hours of rain delays.
HEADING HOME: The Curve will open up a five-game homestand with Erie, starting tonight. The Curve are just 3-7 against the SeaWolves this year. The Curve have averaged one home run a game against the SeaWolves.
