8th-inning gives ProActive Sports victory over JnD

An error in the top of the eighth allowed Mark Saxman to score as ProActive Sports beat JnD Guns, 8-7, in a City League game Wednesday at Mansion Park.

ProActive, which trailed, 3-2, after three innings, got two hits from John Snyder and two RBIs from R.J. Bernard. JnD Guns got two hits each from Jarrod Klausman and Courtney Grove and two RBis from Andy Bagley.

PHILIPSBURG - Garrett Peterson and Kyle Schneider combined on a four-hit pitching effort to lead Johnston Realty to a victory over Wise Trailers in a City League/AAABA game.

Jordan Faretta, Cody Doran, Ty Zimmerman and Braydon Pennington knocked in one run apiece for Johnston Realty, which improved to 12-4 and moved to within one-half game of first-place Wise Trailers (12-3) in the AAABA Division.

Brett Hileman had a double and knocked in two runs for Wise Trailers.

Babe Ruth Teener Districts

MILROY - Altoona moved to within one victory of a championship in the Babe Ruth Teener Minor age 13 district tournament by defeating Perry County, 5-2.

Trevor Miller had two hits and knocked in two runs for Altoona, which improved to 2-0 in the four-team tournament and can lock up the championship Friday night and earn a berth in the upcoming state tournament by defeating the winner of tonight's Miffin County-Perry County game.

Should Altona lose to the Mifflin County-Perry County survivor Friday, a winner-take-all championship game will be played on Saturday.

The state tournament begins in Altoona July 17.
