Lusetta Elizabeth (Allison) Miller, 90, Bakers Summit, passed away Sunday morning at Nason Hospital, Roaring Spring.
She was born in Duncansville, daughter of the late Roy Galen and Jennie Ruth (Zeigler) Allison. She was preceded in death by her devoted and beloved husband of 65 years, David Bruce Miller, on Jan. 17, 2007. They were married June 21, 1941, in Holsinger Church of the Brethren, where they were both longtime members.
Surviving are four children: Donald Bruce and wife, Sarah, of Duncansville, Donna Jeanne Helsel of Bakers Summit, Kenneth Roy and wife, Arvilla, of New Enterprise and Doris Ann Miller of Bakers Summit; 11 grandchildren: David E. Helsel, Jeffrey B. Helsel, Elizabeth A. Saylor, Catharine L. Miller, James D. Vaughn, Dana C. Vaughn, Tamela M. Vaughn-Greeley, Robert L. Vaughn, Misti D. Pechtold, Jennifer A. Shade and Kristopher R. Miller; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Lusetta worked as a secretary at Piper Aircraft in Lock Haven during WWII and as a cook in the cafeteria at the Bloomfield School in Bakers Summit in the late 1950s. She was a Bloomfield Township auditor for many years and had served as treasurer at Holsinger Church of the Brethren for more than 30 years. She was a member of the Ladies Aid, and she started a local ladies craft group that she attended weekly for more than 30 years.
Lusetta enjoyed her cats, crafts, crocheting, knitting and her soap operas. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Todd T. Thompson Funeral Home Inc., Roaring Spring. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at Holsinger Church of the Brethren, Bakers Summit, by Pastor Paul Snyder. Interment will follow in Holsinger Cemetery.
Contributions in Lusetta's memory may be given to Holsinger Church of the Brethren.
