Donald E. Hollows, 87, Altoona, passed away Thursday at the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Richard and Anna (Shuma) Hollows. He married Winifred Rosser on April 27, 1948, in Altoona.
Surviving are his wife of 65 years; four children: Tommy (Darlene), Julie, Tony (Shawn), all of Altoona and Robin of Tipton; five grandsons: Eric, Joshua, Shawn, Ian and Mason; a granddaughter, Mara; and a great-grandson, Evan.
He was preceded in death by four brothers: Richard, George, Robert and Harvey.
Don served in the U.S. Navy as a seaman first class during WWII. He worked as an electrician for both the Pennsylvania Railroad and the Altoona Area School District. He was a member of the Swiss Rifle Club and Juniata VFW.
Don was a devoted husband and loving father and grandfather. Family was the most important thing in his life. He enjoyed camping and motorcycling as well and was a railroad enthusiast.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no visitation or service. Arrangements are by Santella Funeral Home.
