Elmer E. Salyards, 86, Easley, S.C., formerly of Ebensburg and Hollidaysburg, died March 29, 2013, in Easley.
He was born in Hollidaysburg, son of the late Ralph and Mary (Leopold) Salyards.
Surviving are a daughter, Elma Jean Cassidy of Altoona; two stepchildren: Mary "Peggy" Frank (Dennis) and Charles Paul, both of Easley, S.C.; two grandchildren and three step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren; a step-great-great-grandchild; and four siblings: Robert of Duncansville and Anna White, Margaret Stevens and Mary Elizabeth Botticher, all of Altoona.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; six brothers: Jerry, Nelson, Arthur, Ralph, Carl and Howard; and three sisters: Judy, Bertha and Helen.
Elmer retired from L.R. Kimball as a surveyor.
Friends will be received from 10 until the 11 a.m. memorial service Saturday, June 29, 2013, at Matevish and Matevish Funeral Home, Ebensburg. Military services will be provided by local veteran organizations at the funeral home. Interment will be at the convenience of the family at New Washington Cemetery.
