A Huntingdon County man was killed in an early Saturday morning crash on Route 522 in Huntingdon County.
State police said Douglas Lee Whitsel Jr. of Blairs Mills was killed shortly before 12:30 a.m. Saturday while driving his 2000 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck.
Whitsel is believed to be in his late 20s, said Paul J. Sharum, Huntingdon County coroner.
Whitsel lost control of his vehicle while traveling South on Route 522 in Cromwell Township, police said.
Police said the vehicle left the roadway on the Western berm and traveled in a grassy ditch adjacent to the road before crashing head on into a tree.
Whitsel was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, police said.
A deputy coroner pronounced Whitsel dead at the scene, Sharum said.
An autopsy is scheduled for Monday morning, Sharum said.
Orbisonia/Rock Hill and Shade Gap fire departments responded to the crash, in addition to Huntingdon and Orbisonia/Rock Hill EMS personnel.
