Ethel M. Treese, 94, Roaring Spring, died Saturday morning.
She was born in McKee, daughter of the late John and Alice (Heuston) Nofsker. She married Howard T. Treese Sr. on July 15, 1935. Mr. Treese died on Jan. 8, 1987.
She is survived by a son, Howard T. "Ted" Treese of Roaring Spring; seven grandchildren: Kevin Treese and wife, Cindy, Cheryl Treese, Rebecca Shaw, Patrick Campbell and wife, Wendy, Kathy Harbaugh and husband, George, James Campbell and wife, Anna, and Barry Campbell; 15 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Judith Ann Campbell; a grandson, Michael Treese; and five brothers and three sisters.
Ethel was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Roaring Spring.
She retired from the cafeteria of Spring Cove Junior High School and previously had worked at Eldon Inn, Roaring Spring. She also volunteered at the Nason Hospital snack bar.
She enjoyed rug making, crocheting, reading and camping.
She was a member of the Shanty Shakers Camping Club and the Nason Hospital Ladies Auxiliary.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Todd T. Thompson Funeral Home Inc., Roaring Spring, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2013, by Pastor Kevin Locker. Interment will be made in Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
Contributions in Ethel's memory may be given to the Roaring Spring Community Library for large print books or the Nason Hospital Ladies Auxiliary.
