Mary Elizabeth Irvin, 90, Altoona, died Thursday evening at Altoona Regional.
She was born in Bolivar, daughter of the late William and Christina (Cunningham) Shuttleworth. She married Kenneth Warren Irvin on March 16, 1947, in Houtzdale.
Surviving are her husband; a foster son, Marlin Taylor and wife, Candace, of DuBois; a nephew, Paul William Shuttleworth and wife, Nancy, of Butler; and a niece, Eilene Rounce of Pittsburgh.
Mrs. Irvin was a 1942 graduate of Bigler Township High School. She retired as a clerk from Wolf Furniture Co. in 1981 after four years of service. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star, Tyrone, Daughters of the Nile, Jobel Court, American Legion in Tyrone, 8 et 40, Tyrone and was a volunteer at Van Zandt VA Medical Center for 23 years. She was a member of Jaggard First United Methodist Church, Altoona.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, June 23, 2013, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home Inc., where a funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, June 24, 2013, with the Rev. Charles Reinaker officiating.
Interment will be made in Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood.
