Photographer to exhibit
MARTINSBURG - Works by area photographer Sandra C. Halpern are on display at The Village at Morrisons Cove through Aug. 12.
The show focuses on botanicals from many countries that Halpern has visited.

The artist has a degree in art from Stephens College in Columbia, Miss., and did graduate study at The Art Insitute of Atlanta in Georgia. Early in her career, she focused on wedding and portrait photography in Dallas, Texas.
Halpern moved to Blair County 16 years ago and began to focus on nature's beauty.
Her art was featured in the exhibition "Four Lenses-Four Views" at the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art and in a two-person show at Penn State Altoona.
Visitors can view her works at The Village from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is on exhibit near the gift shop.
Chappelle to perform
BURGETTSTOWN - The Funny Or Die Presents The Oddball Comedy & Curiosity Festival will visit First Niagara Pavilion at 5 p.m. Aug. 30. The show features Dave Chappelle, Flight of the Conchords, Al Madrigal, Demetri Martin, Chris D'Elia, Hannibal Buress, Kristen Schaal and Brody Stevens.
The 13-stop tour is Chappelle's most substantial return to stand-up since 2005.
Nine Inch Nails come to BJC
UNIVERSITY PARK - On Sept. 3, Columbia Records will release "Hesitation Marks," the first new music from Nine Inch Nails in five years.
The tour for the album, "Tension 2013," will visit the Bryce Jordan Center for a concert at 8 p.m. Oct. 19. The opening act for the show will be Godspeed You! Black Emperor.

Tim Conway to play AMT
LANCASTER - The American Music Theatre will host "The Tim Conway Show," starring Tim Conway and Louise DuArt, at 3 p.m. Aug. 25.
Conway is a multiple Emmy Award winner for his time on "The Carol Burnett Show. He is also known for "McHale's Navy" and such movies as "The Apple Dumpling Gang" and "The Shaggy DA."
Joining Conway will be comedienne and impressionist Louise DuArt.

SAMA opens exhibition
LORETTO -When the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art at Loretto unveils its latest exhibition on June 28, "Stories Joyfully Embroidered: Shaanxi Folk Textiles from Northern China," it will mark a first.
The exhibition features a collection of nearly 50 contemporary fabric banners that were originally shown at Beijing's National Museum of China in the mid-1990s.
SAMA's exhibition will mark the first time the collection has been made available to western audiences.
After its initial showing, a private collector from Pittsburgh purchased the collection and brought the works to the United States. SAMA is the first museum to show these works to American audiences.
The exhibition will remain on view through Oct. 12.
The exhibition coincides with the museum's upcoming Monuments & Masterpieces trip to China, scheduled for Oct. 3 through 13.
The trip will provide guests with an opportunity to visit some of the most popular destinations in China, such as the Forbidden City, the Great Wall of China, and the Shaanxi Provincial History Museum.
Additionally, SAMA's 35th annual summer Gala will feature an "Asian Fusion" theme. SAMA's largest fundraiser of the year, the event features gourmet foods, casino games, entertainment, auctions, and much more. The event is scheduled for July 20.
