Delores M. Martz, 76, Altoona, died Monday at her residence.
She was born in Smoke Run, daughter of the late John and Mary (Palcisko) Bungo. She married Ernest W. Martz on Dec. 26, 1959, in Ramey. He preceded her in death June 29, 2005.
Surviving are a son, Christopher J. Martz (John Payne) of Las Vegas, Nev.; a daughter, Patricia Martz Kessler (Mel W.) of Minneapolis, Minn.; two grandchildren: Christopher K. Kessler and Anna J. Kessler; and a sister, Madaline Duke of Ramey.
Mrs. Martz was a graduate of Moshannon Joint High School and Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. Delores had been a registered nurse at the Hollidaysburg State Hospital and had worked with her husband in the family business at Minit Market and the Outdoor Games and Arcade at Bland Park.
She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Christian Mothers and Catholic Nurses Association. She was a devout Catholic and an active volunteer in the church.
Delores enjoyed traveling, spending time with her family, reading, attending movies and theater productions with her friends and walking.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 20, 2013, at The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona, where a vigil for the deceased will be held Thursday evening. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, June 21, 2013, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church by Father David Rizzo.
Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery.
