LEADING OFF: For the second time in three days, the Curve's game with New Britain was postponed on Thursday night. It will be made up in a doubleheader later this month when the Rock Cats play in Altoona. No date has been announced
SAFE AT FIRST: Because of the rain out, Curve RHP Casey Sadler (6-4, 3.20) will start tonight's game against Trenton Thunder RHP Jose Ramirez (1-3, 2.76).
STEALING SECOND: The Pirates promoted CF Gregory Polanco from Single-A Bradenton to the Curve on Thursday. Polanco hit .312 in 57 games with the Marauders this season. He has also doubled 17 times and knocked in 30 runs this year.
ROUNDING THIRD: Polanco, who is from the Dominican Republic, has been in the Pirates system since 2009 and was rated the No. 51 best prospect by Baseball American in 2013. The 21-year-old hit .325 last season with Single-A West Virginia and blasted 16 homers.
HEADING HOME: The Curve return home tonight, taking on Trenton at 7 p.m. after a short road trip the New Britain. The Curve will spend seven straight games at home, taking on the Thunder and New Hampshire with an off day on Monday. Altoona is currently in a stretch of playing 15 straight games against American League teams.
