Reba Mary Paul, 97, rural Williamsburg, passed away Tuesday evening at Nason Hospital, Roaring Spring, after a brief illness.
She was born in Huston Township, rural Martinsburg, daughter of the late Samuel C. and Fanny R. (Smith) Tetwiler. She married Orville E. "Boose" Paul in 1935 in Cumberland, Md., and he preceded her in death on Oct. 15, 1975.
Surviving are a sister, Ethel Moyer and husband, Dean, of Williamsburg; a brother, John and wife, Erchall, of Port Royal; special nieces: Grace Suter, Patricia Riley, Linda Smith and Eula Tate; as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Junior Earnest; a daughter, Shirley JoAnn; a brother, Sylvester; and a sister, Martha McClain.
Reba attended a one-room schoolhouse in Smithfield along Piney Creek, rural Martinsburg. She formerly attended Smithfield Church of the Brethren and for many years attended Williamsburg Church of God, now Grace Pointe Community Church, Williamsburg.
Reba was a member of the Willing Workers Sewing Group at Yellow Springs Lutheran Church. She enjoyed doing housework in her own home as well as for many friends and neighbors. She also enjoyed crocheting and embroidering quilts and hats and gave many away as gifts.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 14, 2013, at John C. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 15, 2013, at Grace Pointe Community Church, Williamsburg, Bishop Dennis J. Pruitt officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.
The family prefers that memorial contributions be given to the Williamsburg Ambulance Club.
