Curve game postponed

June 12, 2013
The Altoona Mirror

LEADING OFF: Tuesday's game was postponed due to weather, and it will be made up in a doubleheader tonight in New Britain, starting at 5:35 p.m.

SAFE AT FIRST: Curve RHP Stolmy Pimentel and Rock Cats LHP Pat Dean will remain the starters for game 1 of the doubleheader.

STEALING SECOND: Curve RHP David Bromberg (2-6) will square off against Rock Cats RHP Trevor May (5-2) in game two. Bromberg went a season-high six innings in his last start, a loss, last Thursday. He gave up three runs and struck out four.

ROUNDING THIRD: Wednesday night's doubleheader is the third for the Curve this season. The Curve have split each doubleheader this season, both times losing game 1, but winning the second. The Curve have another doubleheader scheduled with Akron at the end of the month.

HEADING HOME: RHP Gerrit Cole is the 105th former Curve player to be promoted to the major leagues. Cole, who made his first start with the Pirates on Tuesday, was 3-6 with a 2.90 ERA in Altoona. He appeared in 12 games in the 2012 season before being promoted to Indianapolis at the end of the year.
