The Altoona Mirror

Name: Wendy Lucas

Age: 47

Residence: Altoona

High school: Altoona, class of 1983

My favorite sport: Football

I usually attend games with: My husband, Dan

Favorite high school team: Altoona

Favorite college team: A tie between Pitt and Penn State

Favorite pro team: Steelers

My favorite sports memory: When a friend of mine and I finished in second place in youth doubles at a state tournament in bowling in junior high.

The local athlete I've most enjoyed watching while growing up: Lisa Fubio

My all-time favorite local coach: Judy Geist, my first bowling coach.

The most famous athlete I ever met: Willie Stargell

My most prized autograph or picture is of: A photo of my elementary class with Willie Stargell

If I have a claim to fame as a fan, it would be: My boss, Dr. David Montrella, played football at Pitt in the 1960s.

If I were the boss of local sports, the one rule I would enforce would be?: I don't believe that parents should be head coaches on any sports team in which their child plays. It would be safer to be an assistant coach.
