Roy B. "Sonny" Goshorn, 78, Bellwood, died Thursday afternoon at Altoona Regional.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Dr. Roy and Leone (Bell) Goshorn.
He is survived by his fiance, Sondra C. Robison of Altoona; and a cousin, Ethel Mae Wilson in Virginia.

Sonny was a graduate of Hill School, Pottstown. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Moravian College, Bethlehem, where he was a member of OGO Fraternity and served on the Alumni Board of Trustees. He later earned a Master's Degree from Lehigh University.
Sonny spent nearly 50 years in the news business, beginning with his first job of writing obituaries and headlines for the Morning Call newspaper in Allentown to his assignment to the White House, the Capitol and the Pentagon as a producer with ABC's news bureau. He also worked as a television reporter, news anchor and with several Blair County radio stations. Sonny was an amateur radio enthusiast/ham radio operator and a pilot.
He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Bellwood.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 10, 2013, and 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Bellwood, the Rev. Robert Stump officiating. Interment will be at Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Sonny's memory may be made to the Gus Rampone Scholarship Fund-Moravian College; or Blair County Chapter, American Cancer Society.
