Shirley M. Bilka, 74, Bellwood, died Friday morning at Epworth Manor, Tyrone.
She was born in Bellwood, daughter of the late Aloysius R. and Esther B. (Partner) Bilka.
Surviving are three brothers: A. Rudy (Hazel) of Antis Township and James M. and Rick E. (Dixie), both of Bellwood; two sisters: Judith A. (Donald) Williams of Crestview, Fla., and Vickey C. (Frank) Musselman of Claysburg; her friend, Marjorie A. McKerrow of Bellwood; as well as nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Shirley was a 1957 graduate of Bellwood-Antis High School and a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Vietnam era. She retired in 1994 as a pharmacy technician at the Van Zandt VA Medical Center, Altoona, after 33 years of service. She was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bellwood.
Shirley was a volunteer at the Bellwood-Antis Public Library and an active member of the Bellwood-Antis Community Picnic Committee. She enjoyed watching new movies.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 9, 2013, and 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Monday, June 10, 2013, at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Bellwood, Pastor John Winesickle officiating. Interment will be at Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Blair Unit of the American Cancer Society or the Bellwood-Antis Public Library.
