John Patrick Julian, 57, Gallitzin, died Tuesday at Altoona Regional.
He was born in Altoona, son of Connie (Sorichetti) Julian and the late Anselm Julian. He married Dorothy Quinn on Sept. 13, 1986, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
Surviving are his wife; two children: Margaret and John, both of Pittsburgh; his mother of Gallitzin; a brother, Gary and wife, Carol; three sisters: Marlene, Theresa and Margaret; as well as uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
He was preceded in death by his father on Feb. 14, 2000.
John was a 1974 graduate of Bishop Carroll High School and worked for Thermal Industries, Pittsburgh. He was a member of St. Demetrius Catholic Church, Gallitzin, and also belonged to the Italian Mutual Society, where he served as president, Sons of the American Legion, Knights of Columbus, Gallitzin Sportsmen's Association and Penn Cambria Panther Wrestling Boosters. He was also a former treasurer of Gallitzin Little League.
John enjoyed being with his kids and family, coaching Little League baseball, football and basketball, gardening and shooting.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 7, 2013, at Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church St., Gallitzin, where a vigil service will be held Friday. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 8, 2013, at St. Demetrius Catholic Church, Gallitzin, the Rev. Albert Ledoux as celebrant. Committal will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
