Covering the bases
LEADING OFF: The Curve were off on Monday after playing for 20 straight days. They went 7-12 in that time frame. The May 23 game with Reading was suspended in the eighth inning due to rain.
SAFE AT FIRST: The Curve will complete that rained-out game with Reading tonight at 6 p.m. before they play the regularly scheduled game. The suspended game will be picked up in the eighth inning, tied 2-2. The Curve will bat in the top of the inning because they were on the road, and the two teams do not play in Reading again.
STEALING SECOND: LF Andrew Lambo leads the Eastern League in homers (13), slugging percentage (.556) and total bases (115). He is also among the leaders in extra-base hits with 25 and RBIs with 40.
ROUDING THIRD: Altoona was as close as three games below .500 during the 20-- games stretch but the team has fallen to 23-33. The Curve are in last place of the Eastern League's Western Division, 8.5 games out of first place. Reading has also struggled this season, owning the worst record in the Eastern League, 10.5 games out of first in the Eastern Division.
HEADING HOME: Curve RHP Jameson Taillon will take on Fightin Phils LHP Austin Wright in the game that follows the completion of the suspended contest.
