Carol A. Arthur, 68, Lancaster, formerly of Tyrone, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at Mount Hope of Nazarene Retirement Community in Manheim.
She was born in Taunton, Mass., daughter of the late James and Ceceilia Borges Marsh. She married James E. Arthur, with whom she shared 49 years of marriage as of Dec. 28, 2012.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons: Eric C. and wife, Alexis, of Lancaster, Keith D. and wife, Karri, of Chester, Va., and Phillip J. and wife, Lindsay, of Spartanburg, S.C.; three grandchildren: Kylie, Elijah and Madison; and three sisters: Sandy Burke of Taunton, Mass., Susan Marsh of Cotati, Calif., and Betty Williams of Gardnerville, Nev.
She was preceded in death by two sisters: Sheila Iannone and Merilyn Hathaway.
Carol had been the operator of the Horse Haven Inn at the Grier School,Tyrone, from 1983 until 2009.
A lover of the change in the seasons, Carol enjoyed decorating for all of the holidays throughout the year, and she also was known for her baking talent. She enjoyed the quiet life in the country and spending time with her family and good friends. Above all, she was a dedicated and loving caretaker to her husband, Jim.
Friends are invited to gather for a time of sharing from 10 until 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 15, 2013, at Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, where a celebration of Carol's life will be held at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Carol's memory to the American Lung Association, 3001 Old Gettysburg Road, Camp Hill, PA, 17011.
