Mr. and Mrs. Frank Meloy of Altoona celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on Saturday.
The couple will be taking a vacation trip to Ireland.
They were married
June 1, 1968, at the Newman Center at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, by Father Jerome Weiksner.
Mrs. Meloy is the former Lorrie Sracic of Brenizer, Pa.
The couple has six children: Todd of San Pierre, Ind.; Lorraine and Andrew, both of Altoona; Arthur of Raleigh, N.C.; Leigh Ann McCormack of Drexel Hill; and Dr. Gregory Meloy of Pittsburgh; and seven grandchildren.
Mr. Meloy retired from the Altoona Area School District after 42 years of service as a special education teacher, school psychologist, special education director and assistant superintendent.
Mrs. Meloy is retired from the Altoona Area School District as a special education preschool teacher.
The couple are active in the Altoona Kiwanis, doing volunteer work in the community and in the Altoona Area School District.
