Charles D. "Chink" Lovell, 82, Blandburg, died Tuesday at Altoona Regional.
He was born in Blandburg, son of the late Frank I. and Iva M. (Thomas) Lovell. He married Stella M. Heverly on June 17, 1951, in Blandburg.
Surviving are his wife; two daughters: Phyllis A. (Mark) Giguere of Sulphur Springs, Texas, and Marsha (Joe) Lovell Belgin of Coalport; six grandchildren: David R. Cherry, Kylie J. (Jeremy) Myers, Randy S. (Holly) Williams, Barbara M. (Charlie) Usry, Anthony J. (Bobbi) Belgin and Andrew J. (Teresa) Belgin; and nine great-grandchildren: Miya, Taylor, Jack, Caden, Eli Charles, Brittnany, Miranda, Alissa and Robby.
He is also survived by seven siblings: Betty R. Hescox of Hollidaysburg, Sally J. Meyer of Odenton, Md., Iva M. Walter of Bellwood, Nancy A. Hann of Lakemont, Margaret J. Miller of Willowick, Ohio, Susan E. McGowan of Montville, Ohio, and Thomas L. of Latrobe.
He was preceded in death by four siblings: Arthur, James, Ellen Britten and Marian Gates.
Charles was a 1948 graduate of Reade Township High School and retired in 1994 from Hommer Lumber Co., Glasgow. He had been employed for numerous years prior to that as a meat technician for Reeves Parvin Co. (IGA), mainly at the Bellwood IGA. He was a charter and life member of the Reade Volunteer Fire Company and had served as its treasurer for 25 years. He was the current treasurer of the Glendale Area Food Bank and was a member of Blandburg United Methodist Church.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 9 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Friday, May 31, 2013, at McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Glasgow.
