Carolyn Haught Drabers, 90, formerly of Altoona, passed away May 15, 2013, surrounded by family in Lufkin, Texas.
Surviving are four children: Suzanne Haught Faris of Altoona, Cynthia Haught Murray of Lufkin, Texas, David (Lisa) Haught of Minneapolis, Minn., and Thomas (Sue) Haught of Altoona; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and her faithful dog, Joey.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Warren E. Haught; her second husband, Theodore C. Drabers; two sons-in-law: Herb Faris and J. Richard Murray; and a grandson, David Thomas Haught.
Carolyn married Warren E. Haught in Fort Brag, N.C., in 1942. After WWII, Warren and Carolyn moved back to Pennsylvania, where they raised four children, and Carolyn worked as a nurse at Mercy Hospital for more than 25 years. After her retirement, she enjoyed traveling the world and perfecting her golf swing with her second husband, Theodore Drabers.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 6, 2013, at St. Ann Catholic Church, 232 E. High St., Waynesburg, the Rev. Richard Thompson as celebrant, followed by inurnment at Greene County Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Ms. Drabers' name to the National Alopecia Areata Foundation (www.naaf.org) or to the Children's Cancer Aid & Research Institute (www.childrenscancerresearch.org).
