Aline Virginia "Penny" Hileman, 89, a resident of the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home, formerly of Greenwood, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Stephen E. and Lula C. (Shingler) Pentland. She married George Hileman Jr. on Dec. 20, 1947, at Pleasant Valley Assembly of God, Altoona.
Surviving are her husband; three children: Carol L. Walters and husband, Alvin, of Duncansville, Deborah L. Walters of Altoona and Stephen G. and wife, Cheryl, of Altoona; seven grandchildren: Tammy, Nickie, Shawn, Stefanie, Travis, Cory and Aaron; four great-grandchildren: Benjamin, Chelsea, Olivia and Riley; a brother, Russell Pentland and wife, Lorna, of Altoona; and a sister-in-law, Pearl Pentland of Greenwood.
She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Dave Walters; two brothers: Richard and Glenn Pentland; and a sister, Elizabeth.
Penny was a member of Altoona Bible Church. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, flowers, traveling and camping.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at E. Merrill Smith Funeral Home Inc., 2309 Broad Ave., Altoona, and from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at Altoona Bible Church, officiated by Pastor Stewart W. McClelland. Interment will be at Claysburg Union Cemetery.
