David Michael Conrad, 50, Altoona, died Thursday.
He was born in Altoona, son of Frieda (Hocherl) Conrad and the late Anthony W. "Bill" Conrad. He married Karen Potopa on Nov. 9, 1985, at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
Surviving are his mother of Altoona; his wife; three children: Nickolas David, Shawn Michael and Kayla Louise, all of Altoona; four siblings: Anthony W. and wife, Susan, of Altoona, Gerard T. and wife, Joy, of Washington, D.C., Joseph B. and wife, Tina, of Altoona and Denise M. Wesner and husband, J. Cristopher, of Altoona; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents-in-law, Frank and Freda Potopa.
David was a 1980 graduate of Altoona Area High School and a graduate of Altoona Area Vo-Tech School. He was a journeyman machinist and a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, fabricating machine parts for motorcycles and helping family and friends.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 27, 2013, at The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Committal will be at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
