Ronald G. Coffman Sr., 66, Claysburg, died Thursday after an extended illness.
He was born in Altoona, son of Annabell (Varner) Coffman and the late Raymond G. Coffman. He married Martha E. Mesmer on May 14, 1994.
Surviving are his wife; three daughters: Peggy Mesmer and Diana and Victoria Coffman; three stepdaughters: Tina, Heather and Helen Haines; a son, Ronald Jr.; a stepson, Timothy Haines; seven grandchildren; a great-grandson; two brothers: Donald Coffman and wife, Tracy, and Mark Stevens and wife, Margie; a sister-in-law, Dottie Coffman; and seven nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Tyler Lee Strayer; and a brother, Raymond.
Ronald was a graduate of Altoona High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam. He was a member of the American Legion and enjoyed fishing and camping.
Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park Cemetery, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2013, Pastor Wayne Ayer officiating. Entombment will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
