Kensil W. Bowman Sr., 75, Altoona, passed away Thursday at home.
He was born in South Fork, son of the late Charles and Sarah (Brewer) Bowman. He married Mary J. Daugherty on Sept. 22, 1962, in Sidman, and she passed away Sept. 5, 2011.
Surviving are a son, Kensil W. Jr. of Altoona; and a sister, Shirley Bowman of Lilly.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa; three brothers: Charles Jr., Dean and Ray; and a sister, Lois Powers.
Kensil was a 1955 graduate of Lilly High School. He retired from the receiving department of Honeywell Industries, Linden, N.J., in 1999. He was an associate member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Lilly, and enjoyed watching TV and old Westerns.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2013, Pastor John Palko officiating. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
