Paul Edward Jerosky, 81, passed away peacefully April 2, 2013, at his home in Owings, Md.
He was born in Gallitzin, where he spent his childhood, son of the late Peter Sr. and Emma (Clossin) Jerosky.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Barbara; six children: Debbie Larkin, Diane Cover and husband, Glenn, Cathy Tavarozzo and husband, Greg, David Krohne and wife, Amy, Mary Kidwell and husband, Marty, and Paula Jerosky; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Joanne Long and husband, Willard, of Gallitzin; a brother, Peter and wife, Starla, of Duncansville; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and his first wife, Veronica.
Paul was a 1950 graduate of Gallitzin High School. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, in which he served four years. After his military service, he relocated to Maryland. In 1975, he married Barbara (Barr) Krohne in Hyattsville, Md., and they shared 38 wonderful years of marriage together.
He enjoyed cooking, watching the birds on his back patio, collecting gnomes for his garden, playing hearts and spending time with his family.
Paul was a devoted husband, father, "pappy," brother, uncle and friend. His family finds great comfort in knowing that he has found everlasting peace and joy alongside Jesus Christ. Although their lives will never be the same without him, they look forward to the day when they will be reunited and share eternal life with him.
In celebration of Paul's life, a memorial service will be held at noon Saturday, June 1, 2013, at The Lighthouse, 116 Trinity Lane, Altoona.
Paul was especially fond of The Lighthouse, so in lieu of flowers, please make donations to Lighthouse Ministries in his memory.
