Edith G. Mort, 81, of 116 Elm Road, Pennsylvania Furnace, died Tuesday at her residence.
She was born in Van Scoyoc Hollow, daughter of Ralph Clayton Sr. and Amanda (Orwick) Friday. She married Robert D. Mort on Jan. 3, 1958, in Winchester, Va., and he died July 4, 2000.
Surviving are a daughter, Sue Ellen Campbell (John) of Pennsylvania Furnace; a sister, Mary Fink of Tyrone; two sisters-in-law: Barbara Friday of Tyrone and Kate Orwick in Illinois; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers: William R. Friday, Ralph C. Friday Jr. and Raymond Orwick; and a sister, Marie Friday.
Edith attended the Tyrone schools and was a homemaker. She loved gardening, flowers and cooking for her nephew, Don.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 24, 2013, at Derman Funeral Home Inc., Tyrone, where a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 25, 2013, the Rev. Carl A. Schmidt officiating. Interment will be at Baughman Cemetery.
