Eileen T. O'Shea, 74, Bellwood, died Monday afternoon at Altoona Center for Nursing Care.
She was born in County Kerry, Ireland, daughter of the late George and Ellen (Sheehan) Evans. She married Jeremiah B. O'Shea on Feb. 2, 1963, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Springfield, Mass., and he died on April 23, 2000.
Surviving are two sons: Stephen F. and wife, Pamela, and Jeremiah P. and wife, Margaret, all of Bellwood; five grandchildren: Emily, Thaddeus, Ian, Nicole and Shannon; two great-grandchildren: Sadie and Levi; and two siblings: Margaret "Peggie" Kelleher and John Evans, both in Ireland.
Eileen was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Bellwood. She volunteered her time at St. Vincent DePaul Food for Families Soup Kitchen and as a Eucharistic minister at Garvey Manor. She was a caregiver to the elderly and loved doing crafts and gardening.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 17, 2013, at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Bellwood, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 18, 2013, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Bellwood, the Rev. David H. Roesch as celebrant. Committal will be at Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood.
