Baumgartner paces Lions by Bearcats

HUNTINGDON - Led by Tanner Baumgartner's eight kills and seven service points, Altoona rolled past Huntingdon, 25-16, 25-15, 25-13, in high school boys volleyball Thursday.

Altoona also got key play from Ethan Knepp (nine service points), Brett Koelle (five kills, six service points), Frank Perehinec (six service points, five digs), Aaron Smith (six service points, six aces), Kody Clawson (six digs) and Dan Over (eight digs).

ALTOONA: Koelle 6, Perehinec 6, Smith 6, Baumgartner 7, Clawson 4, Knepp 9, Wineland 4, Stewart 2, McGarvey 2.

Bishop Guilfoyle sweeps

Jamey Brumbaugh had 10 kills and 10 digs, and Damon Rickens and Nick Little had 12 and 10 kills, respectively, as Bishop Guilfoyle defeated DuBois, 25-12, 25-12, 25-21, at the Pleasant Valley Gym.

Ben Kasun tallied 34 assists, and Collin Welteroth earned 14 service points for the Marauders.

PC?juniors dump Spring Cove

GALLITZIN - Penn Cambria defeated Spring Cove, 25-8, 25-9 to finish the season at 16-2 in junior high girls volleyball.

Miche Burkett led the winners with 16 service points.

Penn Cambria also won the JV game, 25-19, 25-19, to finish the season at 10-8.
