Gertrude "Trude" Ketterer, 90, passed away Wednesday morning at the Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg.
She was born in Westmoreland County, daughter of Jacob W. and Sallie (Rush) Gilmer. She married Marcus A. Ketterer in St. Patrick Church, Strip District, Pittsburgh, and he preceded her in death in June 2001.
Surviving are a son, Scott M. and friend, Carol Kincaid, of North Hills, Pittsburgh; two daughters: Maxine L. Manna and husband, Ted, of Hollidaysburg and Irene G. Stefko and friend, Robert Robinson, of Cape Coral, Fla.; two nephews: Craig Gilmer and Jeff Gilmer in Maryland; and a niece, Denise Gilmer of Hagerstown, Md.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Jacob W. "Bill" Gilmer and his wife, Bennajean.
Trude was a manager at AAA Motor Club and was a riveter on ships during WWII. From 1969 to the 1980s, she was a volunteer in Pittsburgh with the Association for the Blind, especially blind bowlers. She enjoyed quilting, Sudoku, crossword puzzles and firework nights at baseball games.
There will be no visitation. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
The family requests that donations be made to the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society, 1837 E. Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona, PA 16602, in memory of Trude.
