Pearl Wadsworth Smith, 89, Elmcroft of Altoona Senior Living Community, Duncansville, formerly of Altoona, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday at Elmcroft.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of Bruce and Ethel (Wood) Lingenfelter. She was twice married, first to Otis M. Wadsworth, and he died Oct. 15, 1980. She then married Gray F. Smith, and he died June 1, 2005.
Surviving are two daughters: Anne L. Haught and Marjorie L. McCloskey; a son, Robert O. Wadsworth; and five grandchildren: Wesley and Tyler McCloskey, Russell and Remmick Wadsworth and Rachael Haught.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Roy L. Lingenfelter; and a grandson, David Haught.
Pearl had been employed as a switchboard operator for the Pennsylvania Railroad and a receptionist for the Altoona A&P offices. She enjoyed traveling, doing needlepoint, oil painting and spending time with family.
A private viewing will be held for the family, followed by a memorial service for family and friends at 11 a.m. Friday, May 10, 2013, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park Cemetery, by Pastor Matt Smart of New Hope Baptist Church, Duncansville. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
