Robert C. Miller, 64, Hollidaysburg, died Thursday at Van Zandt VA Medical Center after a brief bout with cancer.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Robert F. and Helen (Haire) Miller.
Surviving are a daughter: Jackie Barnett of York; a son: Todd and wife, Kelly, of Houston, Texas; four grandchildren: Ricky, Heather, Nathan and Jordan; a great-granddaughter, Harmony; and two sisters: Pamela Finley and Kimberly Walters.
Robert was a 1966 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era. He retired from Norfolk Southern, Sam Rea car shops, as a welder. He was formerly employed with the Duncansville police department and was presently working for NAPA Auto Parts, Hollidaysburg.
Robert was a member of Juniata Lodge 282, F&AM; a life member of Phoenix Volunteer Fire Company, H.O.G., Horseshoe Chapter; a member of Duncansville VFW; Fort Fetter American Legion Post 516 and the Allegheny Club. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg.
He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and spending time with his family.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a Masonic service will be held at 6:45 p.m. A 10 a.m. funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at the funeral home, Father Anthony J. Legarski, celebrant. Interment will be at Presbyterian Cemetery, Hollidaysburg, with military honors by Blair County Veterans Honor Guard and a full motorcycle procession.
