NEW PARIS - Courtlin Holland drove home Madison Ickes in the top of the 11th inning to lead Claysburg-Kimmel past Chestnut Ridge, 8-7, in high school softball Friday.

Holland finished with three hits, including a double, and three RBIs. Mallory Cox added two RBIs and a double for the Lady Bulldogs. Samantha Knisely had two hits and two RBIs for the Lady Lions.

Alyssa Pheasant doubled twice among her three hits, and Hannah Mercer added three more hits as Hollidaysburg pulled away from Bishop Guilfoyle at Garfield Park.

The Lady Marauders led, 4-2, entering the fifth inning before the Lady Tigers errupted for seven and six runs in consecutive innings to pick up their eighth victory.

Ariana Mrdjenovich and Nicole Watt each had two hits for BG.

Hollidaysburg's senior night game will be Monday against Mount Union, and its Wounded Warrior game is 7 p.m. next Friday at home against Altoona.

CRESSON - Kelly Yusko pitched a four-hitter, struck out six and walked just one to help Penn Cambria improve to 13-2, thanks to a win over Somerset.

Yusko recorded her 100th strikeout of the season. She struck out more than 100 last season.

Yusko also collected three hits and drove in two runs to go with two hits and two RBIs from Sarah Roberts, two hits and an RBI from Katie Little and two RBIs from MacKenzie McIntosh. Alli Reese also added two hits.

SPRING MILLS - The Philipsburg-Osceola A team beat Penns Valley, 10-1, in junior high action. P-O pitcher Maggie Peck had 10 strikeouts and went 2-for-4.

In the B game, Penns Valley won, 3-1. Both the P-O A and B teams are 7-6.
