Heights holds off Lady Colts’ rally

NORTHERN CAMBRIA - Down by a run, Northern Cambria had runners on second and third with no outs, but Cambria Heights pitcher Cori James struck out the next two batters and induced a ground ball for the third out to preserve a 5-4 win in high school softball Wednesday.

Heights' Lindsey Kosicki had two hits, as did Northern Cambria's Zoey Gailey and Bre Sabella. James struck out nine and walked none.

Tiger juniors split with P-O

PHILIPSBURG - Morgan Feiler had two RBIs, and Mikayla Focht had eight strikeouts as the Hollidaysburg junior high team defeated Philipsburg-Osceola, 7-5, in the first game of a doubleheader.

Hollidaysburg is 15-7. The P-O A team is 5-6. Maggie Peck had eight strikeouts in the loss

In the second game, Ashley Helsel had a double and scored a run for Hollidaysburg as it fell to the P-O B team, which is 6-5.
