Harriet Alice Troutwine, 93, a resident of Colonial Courtyard at Tyrone for the past 10 years, died Monday at Tyrone Hospital.
She was born in Tyrone, daughter of Samuel Joseph and Mabel V. (Gibson) Wilt. She married Jack S. Troutwine on Feb. 17, 1939, in Tyrone, and he died March 9, 1990.
Surviving are a daughter, Sharon Sanford of Tyrone; a son, Jack Stewart II (Donna) of Indiana, Pa.; four grandchildren: Richard Jason Sanford of Colorado Springs, Colo., Jon Cameron Sanford (Joann) of Williamsburg, Va., Brandy Leigh Sanford of Pulaski and Justin Scott Troutwine (Lisabeth) of San Antonio, Texas; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces.
She was preceded in death by a brother, William A. Wilt; a sister, Gertrude Swartz; and a son-in-law, Richard H. Sanford.
Harriet had been employed at the former Reliance Manufacturing Co. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Tyrone, where she taught Sunday school for many years, and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed cooking, reading and bingo.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 2, 2013, and 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Friday, May 3, 2013, at Derman Funeral Home Inc., Tyrone, Pastor Sarah Kim officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery.
